In the last few days, the upcoming facelift version of the popular entry-level hatchback from the French auto giant has been spied multiple times
The soon-to-be-launched Renault Kwid facelift was seen testing on the Indian roads recently. This is something we have experienced on multiple occasions in the past few days. Kwid has been an instrumental model for Renault in India since 2015. Having been around for over a decade, the demand for the hatchback continues to stay strong. Hence, it makes sense for Renault to refresh it thoroughly to attract new buyers. For now, let us take a look at the details of this case.
Renault Kwid Facelift Spotted Testing
This post stems from weguide.auto on Instagram. We see the heavily-wrapped vehicle on a busy road. At the front, there are sleek LED DRLs on the extreme edges of the bonnet, while the main headlamp cluster seems to be positioned on the bumper. Also, it appears to carry the new Renault logo at the front. On the sides, we see the pronounced wheel arches, something people have really appreciated in the car. The design of the alloy wheels is also concealed with the camouflage.
Moving down the sides reveals black side pillars for a sporty appearance. Moreover, the slim body cladding on the doors elevates the slightly butch stance. Finally, we also experience the tail section with a traditional antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler, compact taillamps and a sporty bumper. All in all, the Renault Kwid facelift will bear a few distinct styling alterations in comparison to the current model. Interestingly, the lack of a visible exhaust pipe also hints at the electric guise. Still, we can’t be sure at this point in time.
My View
We know that Renault wants to expand its portfolio in India. Therefore, in addition to the ICE avatar of the Kwid, it could even bring in the electric version to rival the MG Comet and Tata Tiago EV. Remember, Renault already sells the Kwid EV in some international markets, including Brazil. Hence, as the EV wave in India intensifies, it won’t be a surprise if we see the Kwid EV on sale in India in the coming months. Let us keep an eye out for more details in this regard.
