The Chennai-based two-wheeler manufacturer has taken the wraps off the Goan Classic 350, which is a Bobber-styled iteration of the regular model
In this post, I am comparing the Royal Enfield Classic 350 and the new Goan Classic 350 in terms of design and features. Remember, it is still a Classic 350 when it comes to some styling elements, engine and other mechanicals. This is the first Bobber-styled motorcycle based on the Classic 350. RE has been aggressively expanding its portfolio in the last few years. We have seen innumerable models in the 650-cc category. Hence, it comes as no surprise that even the 350-cc segment is being flooded with distinct models. The launch of the Goan Classic 350 will take place on November 23 at Motoverse in Goa.
Royal Enfield Classic 350 vs Goan Classic 350
This video stems from Gaadiwaadi.com on YouTube. The host has the two bikes side by side to clearly list out the differences. To be honest, there are a lot more distinctions than you might initially think. For instance, the handlebar has been raised significantly to offer that Bobber bike riding stance along with the floating seat layout. In comparison, the regular model gets a normal handlebar and a twin-seat configuration. Apart from that, the tyre cover is different in both bikes and the Goan Classic 350 gets walls of the tyre painted in various colours.
Talking about colours, the Goan Classic 350 is available in much funkier options including Trip Teal, Purple Haze, Shack Rack and Rave Red. Even the body graphics are striking. A key element is the matte black / grey exhaust pipe in contrast to the chrome on the Classic 350. The overall stance of the Goan Classic 350 makes the seat lower than that of the regular version. Even the taillamps bear individual elements to tell the two apart. Nevertheless, the side panels, teardrop-shaped fuel tank and curved fenders are similar on both bikes. Also, both bikes use the same instrument cluster albeit with a slight modification in the kind of materials used around it.
Specs
Despite all the aesthetic alterations, the engine and transmission options will remain the same. This means a familiar 349-cc single-cylinder 4-stroke air-oil-cooled DOHC engine which generates a healthy 20.21 PS and 27 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine pairs with a 5-speed transmission with a wet multi-plate clutch. At the front, there are 41 mm telescopic forks with 130 mm travel while the rear gets a twin tube emulsion shock absorber with a 6-step preload adjustment. More details about the pricing and other aspects will be out at the launch.
