Skoda Rapid Ultima Limited Edition has been launched by the company in India, just a few days after it rejigged the Rapid range. This new variant will be available in limited numbers, though the company has not stated how many units will be sold.
The move seems to be another effort at keeping people interested in the car as the popularity of the 2014 Honda City increases. Changes to the limited edition include some exterior visual elements and features, the engine and other mechanicals have not been touched. It will be interesting to see if this measure and the shakeup of the Rapid range will have any affect on the sales of the car.

What’s New?
As you can see from the image above, the changes to the exterior are limited to stripes running from the hood onto the the roof and the trunk lid, and another stripe running throughout the side of the car which ends with the ‘Ultima’ badge.

Nothing changes under the bonnet of the car. So the Skoda Rapid Ultima Limited Edition is powered by either aย 103 BHP / 220 Nm producing 1.6-litre 4-cylinder petrol motor or a 103 BHP / 250 Nm producing 4-cylinder diesel motor. As with the normal variants of the Rapid, the diesel variants are only available with a 5-speed manual transmission while the petrol variants also get a 6-speed automatic transmission.
