Tata Motors India makes some of the strongest cars when it comes to structural strength. In past some time, we have seen multiple accident videos and pictures of the popular compact SUV the Tata Nexon wherein the occupants have survives some of the very brutal accidents including one video we saw on social media wherein a heavy poll fell down on a Nexon in a parking lot but all the occupants in the car came out safely without any injury. Well, that was a lot of talk about the Nexon and its structural strength. The Tata Altroz, which has hit the market recently, is also fairly strong when it comes to build quality. Since there are not many of these cars on the road yet, we have not seen any such stories or videos till now, when we see first such accident pictures on Facebook.
Tata Altroz And Maruti Swift Collision- Pictures Analysis
You can see in the pictures above, a Maruti Swift seems to have badly rear-ended into the Tata Altroz wherein the impact of the collision does not seem small. But the extent to which both the cars have taken the damage seems very different. Well, it is not a fair comparison to compare the rear-end collision of one car (Altroz here) to front end collision of another one (Swift in this case) because there are some strategically places crumple zones in the front-end of most cars which are meant to collapse on a serious impact with another object. The intent of having these crumple zones is to absorb the impact energy and prevent that force from reaching the cabin to keep the occupants safe.
Build Quality of Tata Altroz In An Accident
But what do these pictures of collision tell us about the build quality of the Tata Altroz? Well as we know, Tata Altroz is a 5 Star Rated Car in Global NCAP crash tests, it fared really well in this accident. What we can see visually from these pictures is that there seems to be very little impact on the body panels of the Altroz from this rear impact. Most of the damage seems to be taken by the rear bumper which says a lot about how well built this car must be to take the impact so well.
Build Quality of Maruti Swift In An Accident
As I mentioned earlier, there are crumple zones in the front end of most modern cars, so the Swift in this accident seems to have hit the same. As Maruti Swift is hit from the front, the damage seems to have been absorbed by the crumple zone and it has not seeped into the cabin of the car. There is definitely more damage compared to the Altroz because of the crumple zone, but it seems like that the crumple zone is doing its job well here.
The Takeaway From Altroz VS Swift Accident Pictures
These pictures definitely tell us that Altroz does live up to the 5 Star Global NCAP rating and does have the same DNA from the Tata Nexon family when it comes to sturdiness and build-quality. Occupant safety is definitely one of the most important criteria when selecting a car and Altroz does not disappoint here as per these pictures.
