Now, with its prices under Rs 9 Lakhs for the diesel variant as well, Tata Altroz comes in a very competitive position. It is actually the only diesel premium hatchback on offer, but in a similar price range, you also have the Ford Freestyle. Soon, Hyundai i20 will get a diesel engine with a new generation but the others like Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza will not offer one.

Altroz gets its power from a 1.2 Litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.5 Litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine is good for 86 PS and 116 Nm of peak torque. Diesel engine produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque figures. As of now, there’s only a 5-speed MT on offer for both the engines. There are reports of a 1.2 Litre turbo-petrol engine coming in soon.

Features onboard the hatch include automatic rain sensing wipers, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, semi-digital instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, automatic AC, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors and much more.
