Tata Altroz Diesel gets cheaper as the manufacturer has silently decreased the prices. Just some weeks ago, Altroz petrol and diesel saw a price hike of up to Rs 16,000. In both the scenarios, the prices of base variant have been unaffected while all the other variants have seen changes.
|Old Price||New Price|

|XM||Rs. 790000||Rs 750000|
|XT||Rs. 859000||Rs 819000|
|XZ||Rs. 919000||Rs 879000|
|XZ (O)||Rs. 935000||Rs 895000|
All the four main trims – XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O) – have received a price reduction of Rs 40,000 each. These are just the trims, but there are many variants on offer. For instance, XM trim has Rhythm, Style and R+S as different variants, both with petrol and diesel. There’s just some additional cost that you have to pay for cosmetic upgrades and a couple of feature additions.
Now, with its prices under Rs 9 Lakhs for the diesel variant as well, Tata Altroz comes in a very competitive position. It is actually the only diesel premium hatchback on offer, but in a similar price range, you also have the Ford Freestyle. Soon, Hyundai i20 will get a diesel engine with a new generation but the others like Honda Jazz, Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza will not offer one.
Altroz gets its power from a 1.2 Litre Revotron petrol engine and a 1.5 Litre Revotorq diesel engine. The petrol engine is good for 86 PS and 116 Nm of peak torque. Diesel engine produces 90 PS and 200 Nm of torque figures. As of now, there’s only a 5-speed MT on offer for both the engines. There are reports of a 1.2 Litre turbo-petrol engine coming in soon.
Features onboard the hatch include automatic rain sensing wipers, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, semi-digital instrument cluster, steering mounted audio controls, automatic AC, rear parking camera, rear parking sensors and much more.
