Tata Nexon EV Deliveries Commence; Available In 30 Cities

Tata has now commenced the deliveries of Nexon EV and the first batch is out. It is priced from Rs 13.99 Lakhs up to Rs 15.99 Lakhs.

Tata launched the Nexon EV back in January and in March, it has commenced the deliveries. The first batch of the EV is out for deliveries across 30 cities. The exact number of units in one batch or total deliveries done have not been declared yet.

Nexon EV is available in all the metro cities and most of the tier-II cities like Chandigarh, Lucknow, Jaipur, Ahmedabad and Vishakhapatnam. It is available in over 66 dealerships across these three cities and a total of 12 states.

Tata Nexon EV

Nexon EV is available in three variants – XM, XZ and XZ+ Luxury, priced at Rs 13.99 Lakhs, 14.99 Lakhs and 15.99 Lakhs, respectively. If compared to the ICE-powered Nexon, its top-end diesel AMT variant goes for Rs 12.70 Lakhs. So, the difference between both of them is very less.

Nexo EV gets a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with a driving range of up to 320 kms. The electric motor produces 129 PS and 245 Nm of peak torque. It gets a single-speed transmission but two driving modes – Drive And Sport. The Sport Mode gets a boost of 60% torque taking it up to 245 Nm.

To fully charge the EV, a standard AC wall charger will take atleast 6-8 hours. You can also get it charged at a public station for around Rs 300. The fast-chargers at the public station can charge it up to 80% in just 50 minutes. It also gets advanced regenerative braking as standard.

Features onboard Nexon EV include Hill assist and descent function, Automatic LED headlamps with LED DRLs, Electric sunroof, Push Start Button, Wearable Key, Rain Sensing Wipers, Touchscreen Infotainment system by Harmon Kardon with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Brake Energy Regeneration and Semi-Digital Instrument Console.

The EV carries the 5-star safety rating bade with itself. Further, it gets safety features like Dual front airbags, Rear parking sensors, Rear parking camera, Speed Alert System, Seat Belt Reminder and IP67 Battery Rating with protection against Dust, Moisture and Water.

Now, we have three electric SUVs, the other two including MG ZS EV and Hyundai Kona EV. Both are priced in the 20-25 Lakhs range. Mahindra will be launching the XUV 300 EV next year and even Hyundai is working on an affordable EV.
