2020 BS6 Tata Nexon

With four new variants launch, Tata Nexon continues to have the highest number of variants in India. The count stands at 36 variants in a price gap of Rs 6 Lakhs!

While some years earlier, Hyundai was one brand which had a lot of variants. The Creta itself had more than 12 variants to choose which seemed confusing for many buyers. Then came the new Creta and Kia Seltos which again have a lot of variants to choose from. However, they are still not the one with highest number of variants.

2020 BS6 Tata Nexon

With the launch of Nexon Facelift, Tata started its innings with high number of variants. Over the past 5-6 months, more than 8 variants have been added. Now, there are a total of 36 variants of Nexon! Hard to digest? There’s 18 in petrol and 18 in diesel divided between manual and AMT variants for both.

The list starts with:

  1. XE
  2. XM
  3. XM(S)
  4. XZ
  5. XZ+
  6. XZ+ DT
  7. XZ+ (S)
  8. XZ+ DT (S)
  9. XZ+ (O)
  10. XZ+ DT (O)

These are the main trims and they are further available in four combinations – Petrol/MT, Petrol/AMT, Diesel MT and Diesel AMT. The base XE and XZ trims do not come with the option of an automatic gearbox while the rest of the trims come with one. If and if these two variants also get an AMT, the total count will go up to 40 variants.

The price range of the petrol variants start from Rs 7 Lakhs up to Rs 11.35 Lakhs. The diesel variants are from Rs 8.45 Lakhs up to Rs 12.70 Lakhs (All Prices ex-showroom). This price range makes Tata Nexon the costliest compact SUVs in the segment, priced even higher than Hyundai Venue and Mahindra XUV300.

Nexon is also among the safest cars of India and we have many-many examples of that. In terms of features, Nexon comes with most of the premium that are available among other compact SUVs. However, with the introduction of Kia Sonet this month, this segment will face a highly competitive and feature-rich SUV demanding more attraction.
