Tata Punch Facelift Spied Testing

The updated iteration of the famed sub-compact SUV has been seen in the test mule guise for a few weeks now

Updated on 05.01.2026 – A few fresh images of the upcoming Tata Punch facelift have surfaced on Instagram. The test mule is seen performing a road test on a busy highway. We have seen the micro SUV wrapped in thick camouflage on multiple occasions in the last few months. The overall silhouette is similar to the existing model, but it will carry some design tweaks to set it apart from the current version. In all honesty, the spy images don’t give away too much information. Still, we can expect a redesigned front end, new bumpers, fresh alloy wheels, and a redesigned tail end. More details will emerge closer to the launch.

In the latest spy media, the front section showcases sleek LED DRLs with perhaps a connected LED lighting setup on the grille and a sporty bumper underneath. On the sides, the rugged body cladding is visible, along with solid wheel arches and black side pillars. A brief glimpse of the inside captures a free-standing touchscreen infotainment unit and a D-cut steering wheel. More details will emerge in the coming days.

Originally published on 01.10.2025 – The Tata Punch facelift is slated to be the next vehicle to launch in India. The Indian automobile giant has tasted immense success with the Punch. In fact, back in 2021, the sub-compact SUV was an instant hit due to its butch stance, high safety, latest tech and convenience amenities, bold design and attractive price tag. All these factors have ensured that it remained among the best-selling vehicles in the country month after month. However, a facelift is now due and we are on track to receive it in the coming weeks.

This video stems from greatindianmotor on Instagram. The visuals capture someone driving on the highway, making a video of the heavily camouflaged test mule of the Tata Punch facelift. The latter is being driven on the adjacent lane at high speed. We witness the rear end of the car. It carries a shark fin antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler, connected taillamps and a sporty bumper. We also get to experience the side section. There are prominent wheel arches, black side pillars, elegant alloy wheels and C-pillar-mounted rear door handles. Exact details about styling will be public soon.

In terms of the amenities, we can expect it to be feature-laden. We know that Tata Motors loves to equip its vehicles with all the bells and whistles. In fact, that is the reason why so many new-age car buyers go for Tata cars. Remember, the existing Punch is already loaded with the tech and convenience features to the brim. Nevertheless, the facelift version will certainly up the ante and offer even more functionalities. Hence, things like a large touchscreen infotainment display, wireless charging, 360-degree camera, 6 airbags, etc., can be expected.

Specs

Now, we know that the current Punch carries a 1.2-litre 3-cylinder mill in petrol and CNG guises. These produce 88 PS / 115 Nm and 73 PS / 103 Nm of peak power and torque, respectively. There are options of manual and AMT automatic gearboxes. Hence, potential customers will get the flexibility to choose the best combination according to their needs. At the moment, the prices range from Rs 6.13 lakh and go up to Rs 10.20 lakh, ex-showroom. The facelift will most likely bear a slight premium over these.
