Tata Sierra

Tata has showcased the Sierra as a concept at the Auto Expo 2020. The legendary SUV makes a comeback in a modern version, as an electric SUV.

Tata Sierra is one legendary SUV that commenced the love of Indians for SUVs. However, it came at a time when people did not have a fascination for SUVs. Years later, it is regarded as a collectable and pure automotive enthusiast’s love.

At the Auto Expo 2020, Tata Sierra makes a grand comeback. Tata has showcased the Sierra in a concept version with its trademark three-door styling. It follows the same upright and bold stance that came with the OG Sierra.

Talking about its styling, the front portion gets the Humanity Line design flanked by sleek LED headlamps. It sits on chunky tyres creating a large amount of ground clearance. The shape outline is very similar to the Sierra and again, its a three-door.

Sierra is just an EV concept which is soon expected to take shape. Tata will definitely bring it in the market once the EV space attracts more attention. If the design is similar to the original one, it will get more attention.

Tata Motors has recently launched the Nexon EV, which is India’s third electric SUV. Priced starting from Rs 13.99 Lakhs up to Rs 15.99 Lakhs (ex-showroom), it is just 1.5 Lakhs costlier than the top-end Diesel Nexon.

It gets a 30.2 kWh lithium-ion battery pack with its electric motor producing 129 PS and up to 245 Nm of peak torque. Tata claims that Nexon will offer a driving range of 312 kms. Further, it comes with two driving modes – Drive and Sport.

Tata is bringing in new EVs in the next few years, starting with the Altroz EV and H2X EV. There are reports suggesting that both of them will be priced under Rs 10 Lakhs, to become one of the most affordable EVs.
