Service Centra Performs Careful Examination of Tata Tiago EV
Initially, the Tata Tiago EV owner assumed that some noise is normal for a car. However, when they realised that electric vehicles are not supposed to make any noise, they took the new car to an authorized service centre to seek assistance. He says that during initial examination, the technicians could not detect any problems. However, on the owner’s insistence, the service centre conducted a test drive and decided to opt for a closer inspection.
The detailed inspection revealed that the source of the abnormal noise was the car’s motor. Previously, a similar issue was seen in a Nexon EV. The mechanics and engineers conducted a detailed examination for data collection. Subsequently, the owner was informed that it was necessary to replace problematic parts. This process took three days. During the 15-20 days waiting period, the Tiago EV owner was allowed to use the car. Eventually, both the motor and gearbox were replaced.
Owner Satisfied with the Handling of Issue
It is reported that the problem in the above-mentioned Tiago EV was related to the gearbox. However, both the motor and the gearbox were replaced as the electric car uses an integrated setup. The replacement and testing process took two days to complete. According to the mechanic, this would cost around Rs 3 lakh. However, since the Tata Tiago EV was under warranty, the replacement was done free of charge and the owner was satisfied with the service centre’s handling of the issue.
