Tata Tigor BS-VI

The new Tata Tigor will see some visual updates along with minor revisions to the interior but most importantly, it will get a BS-VI compliant petrol engine.

Recently, a camouflaged test mule of the Tata Tigor was spotted doing test runs in the outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra. This new Tata Tigor is expected to come with some cosmetic changes on the outside and it will also feature the new BS-VI compliant petrol engine. The Tigor has been spotted before as well but this time it was caught doing some high speed tests on the highway.

As for the visual changes, we expect the Tigor to adopt Tata’s latest Impact 2.0 design language. Exterior changes will include revised front and rear bumpers and a new set of alloy wheels. The front grille will also be tweaked, along with new headlamps and tail lamps. The changes would primarily be on the exterior and not much is expected on the interior. However, the interiors might see some new color schemes on offer.

The bigger news is that the Tata Tigor will be updated with a BS-VI compliant engines. Tata has already announced that post the BS-VI emissions coming into effect, they would be discontinuing their small capacity diesel engines. So the 1.05L, diesel engine making 70PS and 140 Nm of torque and was on offer till now, will most likely not make its way to the new Tigor. The 1.2L petrol engine churning out 85PS and 114Nm surely will and that too, with BS-VI compliance.

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox and very recently Tata also launched an AMT gearbox with the Tigor. Tata also updated the Tigor with Apple CarPlay some time ago. The new Tata Tigor BS-VI is expected to continue with the same set of features as the current one which includes projector headlamps, LED Tail lights, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with smartphone integration, ABS with EBD and CSC (Corner Stability) and reverse parking sensors and reverse camera on the top end variants.

The Tata Tiago hatchback is also expected to launch with a similar set of updates. Both cars are expected to arrive around the festive season. There would of course be a price hike for the new Tigor and we are expecting it to be around Rs. 30,000-50,000. The Tata Tigor rivals the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, the Honda Amaze, the Ford Aspire and the Hyundai Xcent. Below is the link of the video where the BS-VI Tata Tigor has been spied.
