These are the top 10 selling cars for the month of August and the list is again topped by the Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Swift And New WagonR.

For the top 10 selling cars of India, the competition for the first contender is always between Alto, Dzire and Baleno, and for the month of August, it is a similar situation. Maruti Suzuki Dzire is the best-selling car but has seen a terrible downturn in the sales.

For the month of August as well, only Maruti and Hyundai cars have taken up the place amongst the top 10 selling cars. Hyundai Venue still remains the best selling SUV in India, outclassing the Maruti Vitara Brezza.

As seen, Maruti Alto has slipped to the 5th rank this time. It has seen a dip of over 50% in the sales as compared to the last year, down from 22,237 units in August 2018. Similarly, the sales of Dzire is down as well, from 20,000 units in 2018.

Swift, WagonR and Baleno have nearly maintained the same positions overall. For August 2018, other contenders were the Hyundai Grand i10, Elite i20, Creta and Honda Amaze. Barring Grand i10, none made it to the list this year.

Instead, Hyundai has sold more units of the Venue sub-compact SUV this year than the Elite i20. Also, Maruti Vitara Brezza has slipped to the last position, down by nearly 30% from August 2018.

The sales of Maruti cars have gone down by a huge difference, owing to the conditions in the auto sector. A lot of automakers hope that the sector will see a bright side during the festive season, which has just begun this month.
