While a Maruti Fronx-based Toyota Taisor is in the pipeline, chances of a Maruti Suzuki-badged Toyota Fortuner are pretty bleak at the moment
In the dynamic world of automotive design, creative minds often run wild with imagination. Mostly, these flights of fancy result in intriguing and unique digital illustrations. At other times, such creations end up being rather cringe-worthy. A case in the point here is a recent digital rendering of a “Maruti Suzuki S-Fortuner.” The said illustration surfaced on social media recently and is causing quite a stir. This imaginative creation combines elements of the iconic Toyota SUV and the design language of the front fascia of the Maruti Suzuki S-Presso. While it’s a testament to the power of creativity, this fusion raises eyebrows and leaves us questioning whether such a crossover amounts to sacrilege.

Maruti Suzuki and Toyota: A Unique Partnership
Maruti Suzuki, the undisputed leader in the Indian automobile market, has a long-standing history of innovation and dominance. On the other hand, Toyota, a global giant in the automotive industry, established a joint venture with Suzuki in 2017. This partnership aimed to leverage each other’s strengths, sharing models and technology to create unique products for both the Indian and international markets.
Based on the badge-engineering between the two carmakers, a digital artist has woven together an intriguing tapestry of design elements. At first glance, you can’t help but notice the S-Presso-like front fascia, complete with a new grille and sleeker headlamps. It’s an unusual and somewhat audacious choice to combine styling language of an affordable car like the S-Presso with the rugged, bold and premium SUV like the Fortuner.

A Highly Watered Down Toyota Fortuner That Pays Homage to Maruti S-Presso
Taking a closer look at the sides of the S-Fortuner reveals a basic styling package that lacks the characteristic creases and curves typically associated with the Fortuner. The body-colored C pillars and the absence of turn indicators on the mirrors are clear departures from the Fortuner’s upmarket look. Perhaps most strikingly, the steel wheels replace the alloy wheels seen on the popular Toyota SUV. Even the door handles appear more basic in comparison. These changes leave us rather baffled with the audacity of the digital illustration.
Unfortunately, the digital rendering doesn’t provide a glimpse of the Toyota S-Fortuner’s tail section. Hence, it leaves us in suspense about how the artist envisions its rear design. All said and done, it is worth noting that this concept is just a work of imagination and neither Toyota nor Suzuki has any plans to come up with something similar.

What We Think
While the Toyota Fortuner-based Maruti Suzuki budget SUV may raise eyebrows and elicit mixed reactions from automotive enthusiasts, it’s important to remember that digital artists often use their skills to push boundaries and challenge conventions. This imaginative crossover between the S-Presso and the Fortuner leaves us amused but even impressed with the skills of such budding digital artists. Although it may never see the light of day as a real vehicle, it serves as a testament to the power of creativity. As enthusiasts, we appreciate when digital artists take us on unique and fresh journeys into the realm of possibility, even if those journeys lead to some truly unexpected destinations.
