The Crysta bagged over 15,000 bookings within a week of its launch and even managed to outsell cheaper cars like the Vitara Brezza in May 2016. Toyota India has now officially launched the Petrol Innova. The Petrol model was earlier speculated to launch along with the Diesel variants. It is worth a mention here that the Innova has been the most trusted name in the Indian MPV market. The new Innova is very likely to build on the earlier model’s success. However, thanks to the ever-narrowing gap between the prices of Petrol and Diesel along with the arrival fresher competition in the form of Honda BR-V and Hyundai Creta has pushed TKM to launch a Petrol model as well.

The Petrol-powered Innova could make a lot of sense to those wishing to buy a premium MPV for non-commercial use. The new Innova is not only more feature-loaded but also looks much more modern. The Toyota Innova Crysta petrol has a 2.7 L Dual VVT-i petrol engine. It is available in both Automatic & Manual transmission models. The Crysta petrol is priced in the range of Rs. 13,72,800 and Rs. 19 62,300 (ex-showroom, New Delhi).  The bookings and deliveries of new Innova Crysta petrol are underway. The booking amount is Rs 1 lakh. The difference between the prices of the petrol and diesel variants of the Innova is not as significant as we expected it to be.

2016 Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol Mileage

The Innova Crysta petrol automatic returns fuel mileage of around 10.83 KMPL while the manual variants return around 9.89 KMPL.

Toyota Innova Crysta Petrol Engine & Transmission

Powering the Toyota Innova Crysta petrol is a 2.7-litre Petrol engine with Dual VVT-i technology. This engine has a maximum power of 166bhp at 5,200rpm and a peak torque of 245Nm at 4,000rpm. Transmission options include both 5-speed Manual and 6-speed Automatic units. However, only the manual transmission could be launched at first. Currently, the Innova Crysta is on sale with two Diesel engines– 2.4-litre and 2.8. These engines produce 146.9 BHP and 174.5 BHP respectively.

In terms of Design and dimensions, the Innova Crysta petrol is same as the Diesel model. The G and V trims have 16-inch alloy wheels with 205/65 R16 tyres. The Z trim gets 17-inch alloy wheels with 215/55 R17 tyres. On the inside, the Crysta petrol looks the same. The base model has options of 7 and 8 seats. The top models have a 7-seat layout. The V model has a touchscreen audio system with six speakers and keyless entry. The Z model has features like navigation, 7 airbags, hill start assist, cruise control and stability control.
