UM DSR Adventure 200 ADV bike launching soon; to rival Hero Xpulse 200

UM DSR Adventure 200 is a dual-purpose adventure motorcycle, which was spotted earlier this week. The launch is expected in second half of 2019.

Earlier this week, we reported that UM is planning to bring a new cruiser motorcycle and an ADV in India. Both were spotted testing on the Indian roads. Well, now, we know more details of that ADV.

UM DSR Adventure 200 will be the new product in UM-Lohia’s lineup. Its specifications, price and features have been leaked at a recently concluded dealer meeting. However, its launch period remains unknown at the time.

UM Motorcycles is a small American based two-wheeler manufacturer. It has been in the Indian market for sometime now. Its cruisers are not that well known, but definitely are eye-catchers.

UM DSR Adventure 200 gets a 196cc air-cooled carburetor engine, that produces 16 BHP and 16 Nm of peak torque. The engine gets 2 Valves with SOHC. It comes mated to a 6-speed gearbox.

In the front, the ADV bike gets a 280mm disc brake and 240mm disc at the back. A single-channel ABS is also on offer. It gets 17-inch tires at the front as well as the back, but no radial tires.

Features onboard include a digi-analogue instrument cluster, a tall windshield, LED tail lights and high set fender. It will be available in 4 colour options to chose from. Overall, UM DSR Adventure 200 looks like off-roading as well as a touring motorcycle.

The leaked presentation even shows the price of the ADV bike. At a price tag of Rs 1.39 Lakhs (ex-showroom), we expect the pricing to be a bit steep. It undercuts other ADV motorcycles, but will be priced much above Xpulse 200.

UM DSR Adventure 200 gets its biggest competition in Hero Xpulse 200. Hero’s dual-purpose bike is on its way and might launch in India by mid-2019.

Meanwhile, UM Motorcycles is also planning to bring a new cruiser. The spotted cruiser at the dealer meet might be the upcoming one. Reports say that it will be the entry-level UM motorcycle.

The same 196cc engine might come in the upcoming UM Cruiser. With the development of these two motorcycles and a new 150cc scooter, looks like UM plans to enter a more affordable two-wheeler market.
