The XUV700 is the flagship model in the portfolio of the Indian auto giant and it has been due for an update for a while now.
The test mule of the upcoming Mahindra XUV700 facelift has been spotted testing recently. The XUV700 is the best that Mahindra has to offer. Therefore, we can expect the large 7-seat SUV to be feature-laden. You must remember when the XUV700 arrived in the market, it took everyone by storm. The Indian auto giant offered some high-end features to pamper the customers. However, in the last couple of years, the competition in this segment has grown a lot. Hence, Mahindra needs to bring its A-game this time around.
Mahindra XUV700 Facelift Spotted Testing
The details of this post stem from carquest1 on Instagram. The visuals capture the heavily camouflaged SUV plying on a highway. Interestingly, we are able to make out from the front section and the size that it’s the flagship Mahindra SUV. This new infinity Mahindra logo is glowing in the dark at the front. Apart from that, the large grille area is flanked by massive LED headlamps with prominent LED DRLs. Down below, the black sporty element of the bumper enhances the road presence.
What’s great is that the man who was recording the video was able to capture the SUV from the sides and rear. The side profile informs the viewers just how colossal the SUV is. The wheel arches are prominent but the alloy wheel design is concealed. At the rear, one sees the shark fin antenna and the LED taillamp cluster is somewhat similar to the current model. That gives away its true identity. There are reflector lights on the bumper with a high-mounted stop lamp mounted on the spoiler. One can only get a brief glimpse inside the cabin. It looks like there will be plenty of digital estate, much similar to the existing model.
My View
The Mahindra XUV700 facelift will most likely carry on with the same powertrain and transmission options as before. That is not a bad thing since it is among the most powerful SUVs in the country in this segment. With this facelift version, the Indian carmaker wishes to re-establish its dominance in this niche car category. I shall keep an eye out for more details as they emerge.
