The informal method of banging doors to test the thud sound is becoming popular these days among YouTubers to ascertain the build quality of cars.
We have found yet another bizarre video of a YouTuber trying to determine the build quality of the newly launched Hyundai Exter by banging doors, bootlid and hood. Hyundai has gained a reputation for incorporating cutting-edge technology, user-friendly features, modern designs, versatile powertrain choices, and competitive pricing throughout its product lineup. These qualities are exactly what they needed to take on the dominant leader in the market, the Tata Punch. The Exter, with its exceptional capabilities, aims to surpass the Punch in nearly every aspect. One standout feature is the inclusion of 6 airbags on all variants, making it the first in its segment to do so, with the ultimate goal of achieving a high rating in the updated Global NCAP test.

Hyundai Exter Build Quality
The short video clip has been uploaded by aaacarlife1222 on YouTube. The YouTuber is checking the thud sound in the micro SUV. He opens and shuts the bonnet of the car. Then, he opens and closes the front and the rear doors. Finally, he opens and closes the boot lid. There is a general belief in the automobile world that the more solid the sound is, the stronger the build is. Needless to say, that is an informal way of judging the toughness of any car. Such activities say nothing about the actual strength of the components. That is the reason why we have the official Global NCAP tests.

What We Think
It is obvious that such videos must not be taken at face value. Many YouTubers do such content but it must be considered entertainment. There is no point in making conclusions based on such videos. The official safety rating agencies analyse multiple aspects of a car like its active and passive safety features to award the appropriate score. Even those tests take place in a controlled environment. Therefore, we advise our readers to never take these videos seriously and rely only on the official NCAP ratings. Since Hyundai is offering 6 airbags from the base version of Exter, chances are that it might post a decent safety rating.
