Tata Tiago Total Loss Restoration

We often see totally damaged cars in accidents that are not generally repurposed by the owners

In this post, we talk about a thorough restoration of a Tata Tiago, which was in a total loss condition. Aftermarket car houses have skilled mechanics who are capable of transforming any vehicle. This is a prime example of that. Tiago is a famous hatchback which sells well in India. The main reason for its popularity is its safety prowess. In fact, that is perhaps the reason why the vehicle was not completely reduced to nothing even after a serious incident. Let us take a look at the specifics of this case here.

Restoration of a Total Loss Tata Tiago

This video stems from Car Denting Prakash on YouTube. The host explains the entire restoration process in depth. Initially, we see the horrific condition of the vehicle. He mentions that they will first need to fix the deformed parts slightly, even though the body panels will need to be replaced. The reason is that it helps the new parts to sit well with the core of the car. Otherwise, there could be issues with the fit and finish. Hence, they take a couple of days to straighten the components. Thereafter, they sent the car for painting.

After applying multiple layers of paint, the final product emerges and it looks great. Finally, they assemble the new parts and the interior together. This includes the doors, bumpers, tailgate, headlights, front and rear windshields, side windows, etc. It is quite satisfying to see the mechanics put the car back together. In the end, I must admit that the finished car looks as good as new. That is a testament to the quality of work done at this workshop.

My View

Purchasing automobiles is often an emotional decision for a whole bunch of car buyers in India. Hence, they generally don’t like to part ways with their cars so easily. As a consequence, some owners decide to go the restoration part in two cases – after a horrendous accident, OR, if the car is too old. They want to breathe a fresh lease of life into their old companion. This is a great example of that mentality. I shall bring more such cases for our readers going forward.
