New Hyundai Elantra

Hyundai has launched the Elantra facelift in India, seeing subtle changes to the exterior as well as the interiors. These are the changes on the facelifted sedan.

Hyundai Elantra facelift has been introduced in India, after its last update in 2017. As expected, Hyundai has pumped up its C-segment sedan with many new features following changes to the exterior as well as the interior.

Another important change comes in from under the hood. Now, the Elantra only comes with a petrol engine, skipping its 1.6 Litre turbo-diesel engine. It is now the only car in its segment, to come with a petrol engine.

1. New Prices

The new Hyundai Elantra facelift starts at Rs 15.89 Lakhs, going up to Rs 20.39 Lakhs (ex-showroom Delhi). With this, the prices have nearly increased by Rs 1.5 Lakhs – 2 Lakhs, on each variant.

VariantPrices
SRs 15.89 Lakh
SXRs 18.49 Lakh
SX ATRs 19.49 Lakh
SX (O) ATRs 20.39 Lakh

2. Engine Specifications

As said earlier, the Elantra ditches out the 1.6 Litre 128 BHP turbo-diesel engine. It continues with the same 2.0 litre 4-cylinder engine, with BS-6 compliance. The engine chugs out 152 BHP at 6200 RPM and 196 Nm of peak torque at 4000 RPM. For transmission, you can choose between a 6-speed MT or a 6-speed AT gearbox.

3. Features

We all know Hyundai and its fondness of offering segment-first features. Like that, the new Hyundai Elantra comes with wireless charging and front ventilated seats as segment firsts. Additionally, it also gets a new instrument console with MID, Auto Cruise Control, 10-way adjustable seats with lumbar support and the Bluetlink technology from Hyundai Venue.

Safety features on board include Hill Hold Control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Front Parking Sensors, Rear Parking Camera, Front and rear disc brake, Six airbags, ABS with EBD and much more.

4. Cosmetic Changes

Design-wise, it gets the bigger cascading grille, new triangular-shaped DRLs, sharper front and rear bumpers, skid plates at both the ends and a new alloy wheel design. Inside the cabin, there are just refreshments to the seat lining and nothing else.
