Government of India is working on creating two bodies – NCEM (National Council for Electric Mobility) and NBEM (National Board for Electric Mobility), the two bodies for making policies and implementing these policies in India respectively for Electric and Hybrid Vehicles in India. While the NCEM will be a political forum headed by the Heavy Industries Minister, the NBEM will be a junior body at the executive level. The cabinet level fore creating these bodies have already been obtained and these bodies will be set up very soon.
These bodies will make policies which will help promote green energy sources to cut down on the oil consumption and let people adopt the alternate fuel based technologies more easily and in an economically viable manner. More will come up gradually when these bodies and the policies are announced.
