Suzuki has taken the opportunity presented to it at the Shanghai Motor Show 2013 to display a host of concept and production ready models. And it is not just the two wheeler department where the company has its presence in. Suzuki showcase the GW250S at the auto show and the bike is a semi-faired sibling of the naked street fighter GW250 whose spyshots of being present in India were brought to you a few days ago by us.
Suzuki is the company which dominates the small car segment almost everywhere it has its presence in but when it comes to moving beyond those small cars, the company has never really been able to get a strong footing. It says that the small cars is what the company has its main focus as but every now and then, the company comes up with a car that is aimed for higher segments and usually ends up being a dud seller.
Shanghai Motor Show 2013 is what every company is taking as an opportunity to display their armoury for the onslaught they are planning for this year. And its not just the concept cars that are being displayed at the automobile festival but the facelifted versions of the existing cars are also making their way to the launchpad. Suzuki has launched the facelifted version of the Suzuki SX4 Crossover for China and the same might just make its way to India as well.
Suzuki has been trying to get a strong footing in the Indian two wheeler market for a while but that has not been the case. The company’s commuter segment bike Hayate has been doing decent numbers but nothing great to challenge the likes of Splendour, Dream Yuga or Discover. Suzuki has not been amongst the top sellers in the country when it comes to the two-wheeler segment as only Hayate and Access from their stable have managed to garner some attention from the buyers. They even have a 150 cc offering for the taking but that does not find many takers despite being a capable bike.
