Toyota has been working hard to meet the demand of Toyota Etios sedan as the demands for Etios have exceeded the expectations of Toyota India. Earlier Toyota Etios Diesel was planned for December 2011 and Toyota Etios Liva hatchback was scheduled for June 2011 Launch. As per the latest announcement from Toyota India officials, both these launches have been delayed. The company has already planned for the capacity increase in phased manner and is focusing on producing more and more Etios sedans to bring down the waiting period for the customers.
Sandeep Singh, deputy MD of Toyota India quoted:
We were earlier looking at an end of the year launch for the diesel variants of Etios and Liva, but now it may only be launched in the first half of next year (2012). The demand for the sedan has exceeded our targets and we are trying our best to reduce the waiting period.
