Maruti Suzuki India Ltd recently came up with the 2017 Dzire compact sedan. However, this isn’t the only new product from the nation’s largest car manufacturer in recent times. Prior to unveiling the new Dzire, Maruti launched the updated 2017 Maruti Suzuki Eeco van in the market. The 2017 Maruti Eeco carries a host of subtle changes and a BS4-compliant engine. Basically, the latest update doesn’t bring about any major change in the way the Eeco looks. However, the new BS4-compliant engine enables the manufacturer to continue selling it after the Government’s latest norms have come into effect. Prices of the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Eeco start at Rs 3.25 Lakh.
The Maruti Eeco made its debut at the 2010 Auto Expo. Subsequently, it came in as a replacement for the slow-selling Versa. Thanks to a low price and the huge cabin space, the Eeco has become a favorite of many fleet operators and delivery services. The Eeco has been doing fairly well even in the private car market, where it has become a logical successor to the very successful Omni van. The Eeco sports a 1.2 L G12 Petrol engine, which is basically a derivative of the excellent G13 that was available on the Esteem. For Eeco, this 1.2 L motor outputs a max. power of 73 BHP at 6,000 RPM and a peak torque of 101 Nm at 3,000 RPM. The Eeco is available in both Petrol and CNG variants. The motor comes along with a 5-speed Manual Transmission.

The 2017 Eeco has a starting price of Rs 3.25 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). The top model, which comes with an aircon and a CNG engine, costs Rs 4.32 Lakh (ex-showroom, New Delhi). Akin to the earlier model, the new 2017 Maruti Suzuki Eeco is available in both 5-seater and 7-seater layouts.

Powering the 2017 Maruti Suzuki Eeco van is the same 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder, MPFI 16-valve engine that outputs a max. power of 73 BHP and a peak torque of 101 Nm. Basically, this engine has been derived from the 1.3-litre G13 motor that came in the Versa and the Esteem. A 1.2 L unit was put into duty to benefit from lower excise duties. The engine comes along with a 5-speed Manual Transmission. The engine is available in two versions – Petrol and CNG.
