For engine purposes, it uses the new 2.0 Litre petrol engine. The engine is capable of producing 171 BHP max. and 205 Nm of peak torque. The hybrid engine will be introduced later in most of the markets. 2019 Toyota Corolla comes only in petrol variant, like its earlier model.
For transmission purposes, the engine pairs up with a 6-speed manual gearbox with an option of a CVT gearbox.
The new Corolla also gets an upgraded list of safety features. It now gets collision avoidance and mitigation system, radar-based cruise control, lane departure assist and road recognition system. However, most of the features would not come in the India-spec model.
As of now, there are no official confirmations about its India launch. Corolla is one of the popular ones in its segment. As per early reports say, the next-gen Corolla that comes in the Chinese Market will be India’s new Corolla Altis.
In India, Toyota Corolla Altis goes up against Hyundai Elantra, Skoda Octavia and the upcoming new Honda Civic.
