2022 Mahindra Scorpio First-ever Walkaround

The upcoming Mahindra Scorpio N is all the buzz in the Indian automobile industry at the moment and this is the first-ever walkaround video of the iconic SUV.

This is the first-ever walkaround video of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio N. The iconic SUV will be arriving in the showrooms near you on June 27, 2022. This new model will be sold alongside the existing model, which will be renamed the Scorpio Classic. While Mahindra has officially teased the exterior styling and the images are available on the website, the interior was spied by people on YouTube a few times. But this video reveals the interior cabin offering a generous glimpse.

On the inside, the cabin is wrapped in tan brown and black upholstery with silver accents on the door panels and handles, the centre console is modernised by a large infotainment touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, there are physical buttons for the HVAC and media, the steering wheel has the controls for multimedia too, a large armrest is visible in the video along with a large panel between the front seats where the gear lever and rotary dials are placed. The A-pillar gets a grab handle for easier ingress for the passenger and the dashboard looks premium with what looks like soft-touch material with vertical Air Con vents reminiscent of the erstwhile XUV500.

The seats look premium with a good amount of bolstering and support but the review will reveal how comfortable they actually are. At the rear, there is a 6-seat configuration in this model indicating captain seats for added comfort. Just like in the front, the rear seats look massive that would hold the passengers in place even on the twisting roads. It looks like Mahindra has focused on giving it a premium quotient to rival the likes of Tata Safari. In fact, it was recently confirmed that the Scorpio N will be larger in dimensions than the Safari.

Specs

The exact specs of the 2022 Mahindra Scorpio will be revealed only at the time of the official debut but it looks like the new SUV will share its engines and transmissions with the Thar. The entry-level diesel engine variant will offer 130 PS with a 2WD format but the higher variants could offer 150 PS with an optional 4WD. The petrol variant will be sold with a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo-petrol engine that will produce 150 PS. In all likelihood, the petrol version will be available only in 2WD format. Transmission choices for both the engine variants will include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed automatic unit. We had also reported that the base petrol model of the 2022 Scorpio N could start from Rs 14.50 lakh, ex-showroom.
