Many cars have lost their diesel engines due to the BS6 norms. Even in the segment of Honda City, except Verna, rest of them all come with a petrol engine only. This gives the City a major advantage over other sedans in its rivalry. The sedan continues with the same 1.5 Litre i-DTEC diesel engine, paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.
2. Most Powerful Petrol Engine In The Class
The new Honda City continues with the same 1.5 Litre i-VTEC engine however, it is now slightly more powerful. Instead of the earlier 117 PS, it now produces 121 PS. This makes City the most powerful sedan in the class. Verna’s turbo petrol engine manages to produce 120 PS.

The new City is now 4,549mm long, 1748mm wide and 1489mm tall. The wheelbase stands at 2600mm. It is now nearly 100mm longer, 50mm wider and just about 6mm shorter. That increase the cabin space of the City making it more comfortable than ever.
4. Completely New Platform
Since its a new generation model, the City uses a lighter and more rigid platform which is safer. Also, for the first time, it uses high strength steel which is stronger and lighter too. This has also led to reduced NVH level and a quieter cabin.
5. More Sporty As Well As Classy In Design
The design changes are very subtle but yet evident. The new City gets inspiration from the Japanese Katana sword. The bonnet is now longer and flatter. Since the height is slightly smaller, it manages to give a sportier than ever appeal. After the first generation City, this might be the sportiest of all.
