Hyundai has revealed the design renders of its upcoming Aura sedan. It will replace the Hyundai Xcent in the coming months.

Hyundai is set to unveil the Aura sedan in India this week. Ahead of that, Hyundai has released the design renders of Aura, indicating that how it looks in sketches. The upcoming sedan is actually based on the Hyundai Xcent.

Going by the design renders of Hyundai Aura, we can say that the front styling will be completely different. Its front will look similar to the Grand i10 Nios, with a large blacked-out grille flanked by two boomerang-shaped LED DRLs.

Further, it will get sleek headlamps with LED Projector lamps, mostly on the top-end variants. The new alloy wheels are the same that come on the Grand i10 Nios. The tail portion of the sedan will also be refreshed.

Under the hood of the Hyundai Aura, will be BS-6 compliant petrol and diesel engines, from the current Xcent. The 1.2 Litre petrol engine currently produces 83 BHP and 114 Nm of peak torque. The 1.2 Litre diesel engine produces 75 BHP and 190 Nm of peak torque. Along with this, the new 1.0 Litre turbo-petrol engine will also be introduced.

The turbo-petrol engine comes from the Hyundai Venue. On the Venue, the engine produces 120 BHP and 176 Nm of peak torque. On the Aura, the same engine is likely to produce around 100 BHP.

The transmission options will include a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT gearbox, for both petrol and diesel engines. The turbo-petrol unit would most likely go with the manual gearbox. We are not expecting a DCT gearbox like Venue, on the Aura.
