Here’s probably the most powerful Maruti Suzuki Baleno of India that produces 170 BHP. No, its not the new one but the original sedan Baleno!
The original Maruti Baleno is a delight for auto enthusiasts due to its sporty Japanese styling and a punchy 1.6 Litre petrol engine. While the new Baleno is nothing in comparison to the older one, the new one also has its said fanbase. Here’s a subtle but tastefully modified Maruti Baleno that has all the major modifications done under the hood. Check it out ahead.
Here’s first a video of this modified Maruti Baleno touching almost 200 km/hr! It has nearly crossed the 180 km/hr mark and is seen slowly inching towards the end of speedometer. The RPM is around 6000 RPM and has still not touched the redline. That means, it has easily touch the end of the speedometer if the roads allow. All the modifications make the 1.6 Litre engine produce 170 BHP of peak power.

Under the hood, it gets a Unichip Piggyback ECU upgrade, KKK K03 Turbo upgrade with a custom intercooler, Raj Hingorani Side Exhaust System, Low Compression Piston, Forged Rods, K&N Intake system and 800cc injectors. It also gets a custom Richbrook Push Start Button similar to what we see on sportscars. All these upgrades must have definitely costed him an upwards of a Lakh!
Further, it gets Willwood brake calipers with Ventilated Rotors and Hotbits adjustable suspension among other mechanical upgrades. Cosmetic upgrades include Hella Black Magic Auxilliary lamps, Custom Hood Scoop, 16-inch 7.5J Karwerkz rims wrapped in 205/40/17 Hanook Ventus Rubber, Bride racing seats with Takata Racing Harness and the Custom Matte Paint Job.
In its original state of tune, Baleno’s 1.6 Litre engine produced 96 PS and 130 Nm of peak torque. It was loved by rally enthusiasts all over the country and many of them still use it for their adventures. The new one may not have the sporty traits of the original Baleno sedan, but due to its light weight it is also considered to be a great handling machine.
