Tata is losing its customers fast to Maruti as more and more poor service experiences come to light. Tata offering poor pre-sale and aftersale services is no secret in the Indian automobile industry. We have reported many instances of people frustrated with the lack of care and professionalism in Tata service workshops. This time around, a customer had the option of buying either the Baleno or the Altroz. However, after being a Tata customer for years and experiencing the poor services firsthand, he decided to go for Maruti Baleno. This is yet another incident where someone has decided to go for another product just because of the service record of Tata products. Here are the details of the entire saga.

Tata Loses To Maruti Because Of Poor Service

The owner of the new Maruti Baleno has shared his experience on the Baleno Owners Club India page on Facebook. He clearly accepts that he was a Maruti customer at the beginning but switched to Tata Motors after that. However, after experiencing the terrible service culture at Tata Motors, he decided to go back to Maruti Suzuki. He was pondering whether to go for a Baleno or Altroz. But the pathetic time with Tata Motors helped him to finalize his decision. He bought home a brand new Baleno and shared the images on the group too.

These facts should be concerning for the Indian carmaker as these are not some isolated incidents. People have regularly been complaining about Tata’s poor aftersales experience despite having great products in its fleet. Tata intends to grab a 10% market share in India by the end of next year. To be honest, it is doing well currently with becoming the 3rd largest carmaker in the country according to the monthly sales consistently. But the road ahead could be slippery if they don’t work on their after-sales services.

Tata Motors

Tata is planning to launch its much-awaited micro-SUV, the Punch in India soon. It is based on the HBX concept showcased at the Auto Expo 2020. It is targeting the lower end of the segment by introducing a solid SUV to shape up that segment too. However, if they don’t improve their services before that, the Punch might be the one to take a hit because of that.
