It is not recommended to cross rivers in vehicles that are not designed for such scenarios and don’t have a high water wading capacity, but people do it for fun.

This video shows a Tata Nexon crossing a river like a boss. Nexon is one of the most popular compact SUVs in the market. It shot to fame on the back of it receiving a full 5-star safety rating at the GNCAP becoming the first made-in-India vehicle to do so. That revolutionised the industry safety standards for good. Ever since Tata has come up with a ton of 4 and 5-star safety rated products in the market and gained market share at a tremendous pace. Let us check out eh capabilities of the Nexon via this video clip.

The video clip has been shot near a water crossing. Guessing by the number plate of the Nexon, the location must be somewhere in Jharkhand. The blue Nexon looks like a new purchase. The co-passenger is seen filming the event out of the sunroof of the car. The water level is quite high but the SUV simply powers through the entire length of the river crossing. Luckily, there doesn’t seem to be a strong current in the river allowing the Nexon owner to attempt something like this. The compact SUV is seen reaching the other side with relative ease.

Specs

The Tata Nexon is offered with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine making 120 hp and 170 Nm and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel making 110 hp and 260 Nm of peak power and torque respectively. There are options of a 6-speed manual or an AMT gearbox. The prices of the Nexon range between Rs 7.39 lakh and Rs 13.73 lakh, ex-showroom. The list of chief rivals includes the likes of Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Mahindra XUV300.

We urge our readers to not attempt such dangerous stunts for the sake of your own, the occupants and the vehicle. In such scenarios, one could never be sure of what the car could encounter in the depths of water. Permanent damage to the car could be costly while the injuries to the people could be even worse.
