It has been over a year since the MG Hector last received a facelift which is why we might see it sometime by the end of this year.

The talking point of the MG Hector facelift is the largest (14-inch) infotainment display on a car in India. MG has a habit of introducing the newest technology in cars starting with the Internet Inside with the Hector back in 2019. Now, the facelift that is planned to launch this year will reportedly carry this humungous 14-inch Portrait touchscreen display lending a premium and tech-savvy feel to the cabin. Will it be enough to pull the potential customers toward Hector?

MG Motors has officially announced that it will be India’s largest infotainment display that will be featured on the soon-to-be-launched Hector facelift. In addition to that, there will be quite a few technology functions including ADAS that will make their way into the new Hector. Note that MG’s Astor and Gloster already get Level 2 and Level 1 ADAS functions respectively. Because Hector is the last to get a facelift, we will most likely see them this time around.

As far as the exterior styling goes, there is no word on it yet. However, we could safely assume that there won’t be too many changes to the overall silhouette. This means that the SUV would retain its long and tall dimensions. Nevertheless, there will definitely be a few design changes in the headlamps, bumpers, alloy wheels, etc. To know the exact details of what they are, we will need to wait a bit longer as the details will slowly start to emerge as we near the launch.

For transmission, you can choose a manual or a CVT automatic gearbox. On the other hand, the 2.0-litre diesel engine produces 170 hp and 350 Nm. it comes with a 6-speed manual transmission option only. The price starts at Rs 14.15 lakh and goes up to Rs 20.11 lakh, ex-showroom. The updated version will command a hefty premium over these prices that could range between Rs 2 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
