There are awful incidents on roads at times that consume dozens of vehicles in their stride and this latest case is a prime example of that.

There are almost 50 cars wrecked by a speeding truck on a motorway in South Africa. We see unfortunate accidents on the roads often but this is a serious and unique case where dozens of vehicles were involved. While driving on the motorways, it could become a problem if there is an issue with even a single vehicle which loses control. The problem exacerbates if that vehicle is a large truck, as seen in this case. Here are the details.

50 Cars Wrecked by Truck in SA

The video clip has been shared by CNN-News18 on YouTube. The report shows the carnage left behind on the motorway. As per the details in the video, a speeding truck on a motorway near Umhlanga town in KwaZulu-Natal province on Monday. The accident took place during the morning hours when the traffic was at its peak as people were travelling for their work. Thankfully, no deaths were reported from the scene but the massive pile-up looks horrible.

Now, the exact reason for this accident is not known. However, it looks like the truck driver lost control and was not able to steer away the truck out of the highway. We can expect that the speed of the truck was high since it was travelling on the motorway. The affected drivers were talking to the new reporters who arrived at the scene. They said that they saw the truck hitting car after car in their rear-view mirrors but were not able to get out of the way.

That is often the case in such situations. Once the chain reaction starts, one doesn’t get enough time to react appropriately and ends up getting entangled in them. That is exactly what the other victims were also saying. Thankfully, people were able to help these people who were stuck in their vehicles. We can only ask our readers to be more careful while driving on the roads although such crashes could happen to anyone without any fault of theirs.
