We are always excited to share news involving our defence forces and carmakers and the Mahindra Armado is the latest vehicle on this list.
Mahindra has started delivering Armado, its Armoured Light Specialist Vehicle (ALSV). It is a vehicle that has specifically been built keeping in mind the requirements of the Indian Armed Forces. Note that this product has been launched under the Mahindra Defence Systems division of the Mahindra Group. What fills us with pride is the fact that this new vehicle is indigenously developed and manufactured displaying the prowess of Made-in-India technology. Anand Mahindra took to Twitter to announce the information pertaining to this vehicle and its deliveries.

Mahindra Armado Armoured Vehicle
Anand Mahindra tweeted, “At #MahindraDefence, we have just begun deliveries of the Armado – India’s 1st Armoured Light Specialist Vehicle. Designed, developed & built with pride in India for our armed forces. Jai Hind. I salute @Prakashukla who has led our Defence Sector with enormous commitment.” SP Shukla is the Mahindra Defence Chairman who has overlooked this entire project from its origin to its conclusion. Recognizing this, Anand Mahindra posted, “My gratitude to Sukhvinder Hayer & his entire team who made this project a reality through their patience, persistence & passion.”

Being a hardcore armoured vehicle, the Armado comes with a ton of unique capabilities. This includes things like extra load-bearing capacity, which is well-suited for counter-terrorist operations. It is also useful during patrolling in tense areas and operations by special forces and quick reaction teams. It can also be used on desert terrain and for border security which is necessary along the volatile borders surrounding our vast country. These details have been shared on the company’s website.

What We Think
With the advancements in technology and investment in R&D, Indian carmakers are able to offer world-class products whether it comes to passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles or defence vehicles. Interestingly, Mahindra is placed uniquely at the centre of all these industries making it a force to be reckoned with. It will be interesting to see what products are launched and manufactured by Mahindra in the following years. Also, this will boost our defence forces and offer them access to the latest technology giving us an edge against any threats.
