VW Taigun & Tata Altroz Crash

Both VW Taigun and Tata Altroz have scored full 5-star safety ratings at the Global NCAP, although the former did it with the latest testing standards, while Altroz was tested before the new safety norms came into effect.

In this crash between the VW Taigun and Tata Altroz, the real-life performance of both 5-star rated vehicles has come to the surface. Taigun has scored this rating in the latest updated testing norms which are slightly more demanding than the previous ones. Essentially, that makes it the safest SUV in the country. On the other hand, Altroz has been around for a long time and was tested in accordance with the last-gen Global NCAP norms. It still got a 5-star rating which is a testament to the build quality of the premium hatchback. Let us see what happens when these two collide.

This video has been uploaded by Raftaar7811 on YouTube. This channel frequently shares content around road safety. On this occasion, an Altroz is seen in the video where it crashes into a Taigun from the rear end. The exact reason for this incident is unknown. Nonetheless, the damages to both these cars are evident. It looks like the Altroz got the worse of the two. Its bumper, bonnet, grille and surrounding areas have suffered minor damage. The bonnet might look raised, but that is common during such collisions. On the other hand, the tailgate of the Taigun also suffered minor dent and scratches.

We must not make judgements regarding the actual build quality of cars from such incidents. Each accident involved millions of factors and the Global NCAP takes into account only a few of them. Essentially, these tests are in a controlled environment. But the real-life crashes are far from controlled. Therefore, you must not entirely rely on the safety rating of your car. The first step still remains careful and responsible driving.

What We Think

We see thousands of lives lost on our roads each year. Most of these accidents take place due to the negligence of the driver and the refusal to follow traffic laws. Overspeeding is the chief cause of most road crashes. While we don’t know the details of this particular incident, we would like to urge our readers to always follow traffic regulations at all costs. It is high time we start acknowledging the importance of following traffic rules so that our roads can become safer than they are at the moment.
