When it comes to blending performance, comfort and modern features, Honda has always been at the forefront, especially with models like the City, Civic and CR-V. And from the looks of it, their new addition, the Elevate, is ready to join the fray. Based on the’Urban Freestyler’ concept, the Honda Elevate has just gone on sale. It locks horns with the likes of Hyundai Creta and Skoda Kushaq. Developed by the Honda R&D Asia Pacific Centre in Thailand, this SUV shares aplenty with the City but enjoys a distinct identity.

Price (Ex-showroom)

One of the most compelling aspects of the Honda Elevate will be its affordability. Since the demise of the Mobilio-based BR-V, it’s the first time that Honda has come up with an SUV in the mainstream end of the market. The new model has just gone on sale and should help Honda consolidate its position in the market. The Honda Elevate is on sale at an introductory starting price of INR 10,99,900 – INR 15,99,900. Such a pricing strategy positions it as an attractive choice for buyers seeking a compact SUV that offers a blend of performance, comfort, and modern features at the right cost.

Pros and Cons: What to Expect

As with any vehicle, the Honda Elevate comes with its own set of pros and cons.

Pros:

  • Spacious interior: Ample head and knee room, and a generous cargo capacity.
  • Powerful engine: The 1.5L i-VTEC engine delivers robust performance.
  • Good fuel efficiency: Both manual and CVT variants offer competitive mileage.
  • Feature-rich: Packed with advanced technology and convenience features.

Cons:

  • Lacks a diesel engine: For buyers looking for a diesel option, the Elevate may not meet their preferences.
  • Lacks an AWD option: All-wheel drive enthusiasts may find this missing feature disappointing.
  • No panoramic sunroof: Although feature of little use, the panoramic sunroof is wanted by many. The Elevate, though, comes with only a single-pane unit.

What We Think

The all-new Honda Elevate is set to make its debut tomorrow. It will likely launch at an attractive price point. Meanwhile, the impressive features and tried and tested engine should help it make quite an impact in the compact SUV segment. The lack of diesel engine option might have a few prospective buyers look away but the dwindling popularity of diesel cars should work in Elevate’s favour in the long run. If you’re in the market for a compact SUV that offers a blend of style, efficiency, and safety, the Elevate is at least worth a test drive.
