Toyota Fortuner Old-Gen to New-Gen Conversion

Toyota Fortuner Old-Gen to New-Gen Conversion

This Toyota Fortuner conversion of the old-gen to the new-gen model is quite impressive. The Fortuner holds the title of being the most triumphant 7-seat off-road vehicle in the nation. It stands as an aspirational choice for a wide spectrum of individuals. Its reputation for reliability, impressive capabilities, and ruggedness are among the primary factors that drive people to choose it. Nevertheless, the SUV’s pricing, particularly over the last few years, has seen a significant and steep increase. In fact, the highest-end Fortuner model now carries a staggering price tag of over Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom. To beat that, some people are converting their old model into the new one.

Old-Gen to New-Gen Toyota Fortuner Conversion

This post comes from musafir7811 and gauravmotors on Instagram. In this post, the vlogger first shows the old Fortuners. Then the camera moves to what looks like the latest generation model. In fact, there are hardly any discrepancies with the front profile, side section and rear area. The body panels, headlamps, grille, bumper, side body skirting, and wheel arches look quite normal. It is only once you move to the inside that the dashboard area gives away its true credentials. But the overall modification is quite impressive. It is perfect for all those who are looking to save some money instead of buying a new model.

Specs

The Toyota Fortuner presents a choice between two potent engine options – a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine. These engines deliver impressive power and torque figures, with the petrol engine producing 164 hp and 245 Nm. Meanwhile, the turbo-diesel engine offers a robust 201 hp and 420 Nm of peak power and torque (or 500 Nm with an automatic transmission). For the diesel variants, you have the option of selecting between a 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission, both of which come with all-wheel drive capability as standard. The SUV is also equipped with a dedicated 4×4 system, ensuring its capability to handle a variety of terrains. Pricing for the Fortuner starts at Rs 32.59 lakh and goes up to Rs 50.34 lakh, ex-showroom.

What We Think

Aftermarket car modifications are extremely popular these days. These car shops have so much more exposure to the technology, ideas and genuine spare parts. That helps them to offer modified versions of just about every car to the buyers as per their needs. However, we must mention that most car modifications in India are illegal. Hence, you must consider this before doing these customizations. You could visit your local RTO and consult them regarding the modifications. If they allow them, you could get them written on your RC (Registration Certificate). In that way, you won’t have any issues with the authorities later on.
