Next-Gen Toyota Fortuner Rendering

The next-gen Toyota Fortuner is a wildly anticipated SUV in our market. It is among the most popular and successful 7-seat off-roading SUVs in India. People buy it primarily for its rugged nature and high reliability. The Japanese carmaker has proved over the years that it makes some of the most indestructible SUVs on the planet. As a matter of fact, that is the reason for the immense popularity of some of its top-selling SUVs in various parts of the world. Let us take a look at the details of this unique digital rendering which would give us an idea of what the upcoming next-gen model could look like.

Next-Gen Toyota Fortuner

This digital illustration looks on point. At the front, we see a sleek LED headlamp cluster with an integrated LED DRL unit, a massive front grille with chrome inserts, LED fog lamp housings on the extreme edges of the bumper, a rugged skid plate to accentuate its road presence and an upright bonnet to ooze authority. Down the sides, the silhouette remains almost identical to the existing model. This includes black side pillars lending that floating roof effect, a dual-tone black roof, prominent wheel arches, chrome door handles, a practical side step to enhance the ingress and egress characteristics of the SUV, and large stylish alloy wheels. The rear section is not visible in this image. All in all, this could certainly be something close to the production model.

Specs

The existing version of the Toyota Fortuner offers a choice between two different engines – a 2.7-litre petrol engine and a 2.8-litre turbo-diesel engine. The petrol engine delivers a maximum power output of 164 hp and a peak torque of 245 Nm. On the other hand, the diesel engine offers two power and torque options, with either 201 hp and 420 Nm or 500 Nm (with an automatic transmission). Customers have the option of selecting either a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. For those who need to tackle challenging driving conditions, the SUV features a specialized 4×4 system in its higher trim levels, enhancing its off-road capabilities. Pricing for the Toyota Fortuner starts at Rs 32.99 lakh and goes up to Rs 50.74 lakh, ex-showroom.

What We Think

It is quite common for digital automobile artists to develop unique iterations of popular vehicles. It gives them the opportunity to display their creativity. Simultaneously, it offers the viewers a chance to visualise their favourite vehicle in a completely different guise. But unlike a lot of such digital renditions, this one is not too extravagant to not make it to production. That is what we appreciate the most about this particular illustration. We will have to wait to see how the actual product looks in real life when it arrives in a few months.
