The DIY culture is gaining a lot of prominence in many parts of the world and this is yet another example of it.

This homemade solar electric car represents the level of creativity of this YouTuber. Lately, we have been witnessing a lot of DIY methods to modify cars. However, this is one of those rare cases where a man has developed an entire car from scratch. This includes the mechanical, as well as electrical components. Apart from that, the entire cabin, of sorts, has been designed by a single man. Let us take a look at the details of the creativity on display in this latest post.

This video comes from Creative Etc. on YouTube. The YouTuber keeps creating interesting projects that a lot of people love. In fact, this particular video also has over 4.7 million views. The designer of this solar car showcases the entire process of building this EV from scratch. First of all, he constructs the external frame for the EV. He uses rugged rods and welds them together to form a strong structure. Thereafter, he makes panels for seating and covers this frame to give it the shape of a car, to some extent. He even installs a window at the front.

Apart from that, there is a proper suspension setup in place. It even gets a 3-wheeler setup with 2 wheels at the front and 1 wheel at the rear. The YouTuber ensures that the EV has front headlamps and a taillamp to keep others cognisant of its movements. As a matter of fact, there are ORVMs to ensure proper visibility while changing lanes and a roof created by a sheet of solar panels. There is a battery and other related components installed in a dedicated place on the floor of the car. All in all, this creation is quite impressive and practical.

What is interesting is the fact that this is not just a passion project. The creator of this solar electric car even drives the car on a proper road. He mentions in the video description that the car is able to hit a top speed of 45 km/h and can run upto 50 km on a single charge. He used a 1000 W 60 V E-bike conversion kit, a 225 W 12 V Loom solar panel and 60 V 32 Ah li-ion battery, a 1500 W 30 A DC Boost converter, etc. The electrical cables are quite well designed and placed. We appreciate the dedication and professionalism with which this man created this electric solar car at home.
