Ford has debuted a new limited edition of the Ford Classic (or the previous generation Ford Fiesta), bookings of the car started on 14th June 2013. The Classic still sells here, though it has been in the market for over 7 years, because it is a good car. The Classic, when launched, was one of the best family sedans to own – the ride was comfy but sporty enough, it was pretty well spec-ced and priced well too. The demand for the car still exists apparently and Ford offeres it with either a 1.6 litre, ย 100 BHP, Duratec petrol or a 1.4 litre, 68 BHP, Duratorq diesel engine.
The Ford Classic CLXi limited edition gets some extra features to distinguish itself from the regular CLXi variant. It will join the three variants that the Classic is offered with earlier – the LXi, the CLXi and the Titanium.
What’s New?
The car gets seven new features:
- Front fog lamps – Fog lamps were earlier available only on the top end Titanium variant.
- 14” Alloy wheels – This was also only available on the Titanium variant earlier.
- Chrome plated garnish for the rear number plate holder – This was earlier available as an optional extra and was not available as standard even on the Titanium variant.
- Rear spoiler – The spoiler looks the same as the ones fitted on previous limited edition variants of the Classic and also the one found on the Fiesta S. It was available as an option earlier.
- New seat covers – these are the black seat covers that were earlier available as an option.
- Chrome surround grille – Earlier only available on the Titanium, variant. Rest of the models were available with all-black grilles.
- Reverse parking sensors.
Ford has not revealed the price of the Classic CLXi limited edition, but we suspect the petrol variant might be priced about Rs. 6.5 lakh while the diesel variant will be priced at about Rs. 8 lakh.
