Hyundai Creta N Line Official Bookings Open

The much-anticipated Hyundai Creta N Line is slated for launch today. The most popular mid-size SUV in the country is about to receive a slightly more engaging N Line version. With this, Hyundai expands its N Line portfolio in India which already includes the i20 N Line and Venue N Line. In fact, there are rumours that we might also witness the Verna N Line down the line. In any case, the Creta N Line boasts some cosmetic alterations on the exterior, as well as some N Line-specific insignias on the inside, while the powertrain is borrowed from the regular Creta (in top trim). Let us glance through all the details of this mean version of the Creta as it starts making its way to the dealerships.

Hyundai Creta N Line – Specs

The N Line variant of the new Hyundai Creta comes with the potent 1.5-litre turbo petrol direct injection engine, capable of delivering 160 hp and 253 Nm of peak power and torque. This engine, shared with the standard Creta and Verna models, will be paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed DCT automatic gearbox in the N Line trim. Catering to driving enthusiasts, the N Line variant will feature recalibrated steering, exhaust, and suspension setups. However, it’s worth noting that the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol and 1.5-litre turbo diesel engines will not be offered in this variant.

Hyundai Creta N Line – Price

Going by the price difference between the regular Venue and N Line version of the Venue, we expect the Creta N Line to command a premium of around Rs 50,000 over the regular trim. Since most mechanicals are the same, and there are minor customizations to the exterior and interior, this premium seems justified. At present, the 1.5-litre turbo-petrol-powered Creta retails for Rs 20 lakh and Rs 20.15 lakh (DT), ex-showroom. We can expect a premium over these prices.

Exterior Design

On the outside, there are dedicated N Line monikers to distinguish it from the regular Creta. This encompasses an N Line-exclusive sporty front grille adorned with an N Line emblem, alongside a fresh front bumper design featuring striking red inserts. Additionally, the N Line variant boasts brand-new 18-inch alloy wheels complemented by sporty red front brake callipers and side sill inserts in red. Moreover, a newly designed skid plate with red inserts, as well as distinctive N emblems on the front, side, and rear, accentuate its sporty character. All other elements, including the LED taillamp bar, LED headlamps, and side profile, will retain an identical appearance to the non-N-line version. Hence, the road presence of the Creta N Line will be slightly different than the regular model with these design modifications.

Safety

Hyundai is the only carmaker in the country to offer 6 airbags as standard across its entire portfolio. That highlights its commitment to providing the utmost safety to its customers. The Creta N Line will uphold this standard. It will incorporate 42 standard safety features, encompassing 6 airbags, Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Electronic parking brake with auto hold, Hill Assist Control (HAC), and over 70 advanced safety features. Furthermore, its convenience, technological, and connectivity features are expected to align closely with those of the standard version. Additionally, there’s a possibility of an all-black interior theme with red stitching or piping enhancing the upholstery.

Author’s Note

Hyundai has consistently demonstrated innovation in the market. In 2014, they made a significant impact by introducing the i20, pioneering the premium hatchback segment and creating a new category. Currently, their N-Line division is attracting considerable attention from buyers looking for spirited performance without the steep price tag associated with hardcore sports cars. The increasing sales of N-Line models in the past two years highlight this emerging trend. Looking ahead, Hyundai plans to broaden the N-Line lineup by including other models such as the Verna. We eagerly await further developments in this area.
