At the ongoing Tokyo Camping Car Show, this unique concept of the Suzuki Jimny with a pop-top camper iteration has been revealed. It is created by a Japanese company, White House Camper. This camping setup gets an electric operation which allows two adults to sleep comfortably. This Jimny XL pop-top camper roof conversion opens and closes electronically, which saves a lot of time and efforts for the users. In fact, prior to the unveiling, the company even showcased detailed renderings with the exterior camper fitted on the roof.
Note that there is also other options in the market which require the roof to be cut to fit a modified assembly. But with the Pop-Top setup from White House Camper, the height of the Jimny has been increased to 2,815 mm. That is around 1 m taller than the standard Jimny. This ensures that there is adequate space for two people to rest in the tent during long journeys. What will be interesting to see is whether this roof conversion will be sold in Japan initially, and then in the other international markets or not.
