The German carmaker will launch the new Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI in early Q2 2025 in India

The new VW Tiguan R-Line will bear the latest tech and convenience amenities to pamper the customers. R-Line represents the performance version of the large SUV. VW offers many products for driving enthusiasts in the international markets. However, in India, we don’t get to witness many of these enticing cars. Nevertheless, all that is about to change as VW plans to introduce two such cars for our market in the coming months – Golf GTI and Tiguan R-Line.

New VW Tiguan R-Line Gets Modern Features

As per the official press release, the new VW Tiguan R-Line is taking things to the next level when it comes to in-cabin infotainment and convenience. For instance, it will come with a colossal 15-inch touchscreen infotainment display with newly designed menu structure and graphics, a new head-up display, a new multi-function driving experience switch with integrated TFT LCD display, a 10.25-inch customizable digital cockpit, components of 4th-generation Modular Infotainment Toolkit (MIB4), wireless App-Connect for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, IDA-powered voice assistance and much more.

All these new-age amenities are sure to entice new customers. Under the hood, the new VW Tiguan R-Line will possess a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. The power and torque details will surface closer to the launch. Performing transmission duties will be a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. It will send power to all four wheels via VW’s trademark 4MOTION all-wheel-drive system. However, the biggest talking point has to be its price tag. Since it will be a full import, one can expect the retail sticker to read figures north of Rs 50 lakh, ex-showroom.

My View

With its range of MQB A0 IN-based products like the Virtus and Taigun, the German carmaker has had a decent run on the sales charts in the last couple of years. To maintain that momentum, it is bringing its legendary products from the international markets. The aim is to make the brand more aspirational for a whole bunch of customers. Also, with its performance-focused cars like the Tiguan R-Line and Golf GTI, it wants to give a taste of German engineering to the Indian car enthusiasts. Let us see how things pan out.
