Updated on 14.01.2026 – The upcoming MG Majestor SUV continues to undergo extensive testing ahead of the official launch. It is being said to be the ideal Toyota Fortuner rival. In all honesty, that is a tall feat to achieve for any SUV. The latest post from mgmotorfanpage on Instagram captures the large SUV with camouflage. At the front, it gets a colossal fascia with a massive grille, LED lighting, vertical LED headlamps and a sporty bumper. The side section is dominated by stylish alloy wheels, black side pillars, prominent wheel arches and side steps for easier ingress and egress. Finally, at the rear, we witness connected taillamps via a light bar and a rugged lower section with dual exhaust setup. More details will emerge in the coming days.
MG Majestor Spotted Testing Ahead of Launch [Video]
Originally published on 19.04.2025 – The MG Majestor was recently spotted testing on public roads in India ahead of the launch. We saw the Majestor at the Auto Expo 2025 earlier this year. Even though it was touted as the facelift to the existing Gloster, the Majestor will be positioned above the Gloster, making it the new flagship SUV from JSW MG Motor India. Needless to say, it bears an imposing road presence along with plenty of new-age amenities and powerful engine options. Let us take a look at the details of this latest spotting.
MG Majestor Spotted Testing
We are able to come across the specifics of this video courtesy of motoyatra on Instagram. The visuals capture a vivid clip of the new MG Majestor plying on the busy Indian roads without any camouflage. Someone driving behind the SUV made the entire video. We are able to witness the tail end of the SUV. It incorporates a connected LED taillight along with a rugged bumper with a solid skid plate and a dual-exhaust system. It has the Majestor lettering on the bootlid. In the latter part of the video, the cameraman also records it while it was parked, where the front and side sections were visible. We see elegant alloy wheels, sleek and sharp LED headlamps and sturdy side steps.
Interestingly, the interior of the SUV was covered in camouflage since the launch is still some time away. In any case, we can expect it to carry all the convenience and tech functionalities of the Gloster along with some added features. The aim is to offer a premium experience to the buyers at a price tag of around Toyota Fortuner. We know that MG is an expert in this aspect, as all its offerings are some of the most feature-packed products in their respective segments. It will even have the latest active and passive safety equipment.
Specs
Now, we are not clear about the exact specifications of the MG Majestor. However, it won’t be wrong to assume that it could borrow the engine and transmission options from the Gloster. This means a 2.0-litre 4-cylinder bi-turbo diesel engine that produces 218 PS and 480 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. In the Gloster, there is also a detuned single-turbo version of this engine, which is good for 163 PS and 375 Nm. This mill will most likely pair with an 8-speed automatic transmission powering all four wheels. The expected prices could be between Rs 45 lakh and Rs 55 lakh, ex-showroom. More details will emerge closer to the launch.
