The new variant will sit at the top of the lineup and comes with the addition of some new tech features
The MG Windsor EV Pro has been launched in India. The Windsor EV was first launched in our market in September last year (2024). Ever since its arrival, it has risen to the top of the EV sales charts. That is a testament to the appreciation it received from the Indian buyers. Also, MG’s industry-first BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) was introduced with it. It ensured that the buyers would experience a low initial cost by renting the battery. All that has worked in favour of the EV. Now, MG wants to make the Windsor even more exciting with some new upgrades with this new trim.
MG Windsor EV Pro Launched
The new variant gets Pro amenities, including interior enhancements, added safety and tech features, along with a bigger battery pack for more range. These are labelled as – Pro Luxury, Pro Technology and Pro Confidence. On the inside, it gets a dual-tone interior theme with Ivory and Black colours. Additionally, the Windsor Pro boasts Level 2 ADAS functions with a suite of active safety equipment like Traffic Jam Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Forward Collision Warning and more. Other bits include V2L (Vehicle-to-Load) for powering other appliances, V2V (Vehicle-to-Vehicle) to charge other EVs and a powered tailgate.
Perhaps the most important upgrade with the MG Windsor EV Pro is the new and bigger battery. This trim gets a 52.9 kWh Prismatic Cell battery with a claimed range of 449 km on a single charge. There are three new colours on offer – Celadon Blue, Glaze Red and Aurora Silver. The lower variants continue to carry an IP67-certified 38 kWh battery pack with LFP chemistry and Prismatic Cell Structure. It powers the electric motor to generate a healthy 136 PS and 200 Nm of maximum power and torque, respectively. Furthermore, MG says that the EV can go 332 km between charging cycles, although the real-world numbers could be a bit lower. Using a 50 kW DC fast charger, the battery takes 55 minutes to go from 0 to 80%.
