The electric G-Wagon comes with a massive 116 kWh usable battery pack. It uses four electric motors, one on each wheel. Together, they produce 587 hp of power and an enormous 1,164 Nm of torque. On a full charge, the SUV can cover up to 473 km as per the WLTP cycle. Despite weighing more than 3 tons, it accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds. Drivers can select from three driving modes – Comfort, Sport, and Individual. For rough terrain, there are also two off-road settings – Trail and Rock.
To mimic the effect of differential locks, the system uses torque vectoring. This ensures each wheel gets the right amount of torque when needed. Every motor also has its own gearbox with a low-range option, which boosts off-road performance. A unique feature called G-Turn lets the SUV spin 360 degrees on the spot, much like a tank. This makes manoeuvring easier during tricky off-road conditions. The G-Wagon can also handle water crossings with a depth of up to 850 mm. These features together make the electric G-Class both powerful and highly capable, whether on smooth highways or difficult trails.
