Kia Seltos is among the most popular mid-size SUVs in the country
The new-gen Kia Seltos was seen road testing recently. In fact, the mid-size SUV has been spotted wearing heavy camouflage on many occasions lately. Seltos is one of the most sought-after mid-size SUVs in India. It was first launched here in 2019, marking the brand’s debut in the country. Since then, it has played a key role in helping Kia become the quickest carmaker to cross 1 million (10 lakh) sales in India. The company achieved this milestone in just 59 months of presence. After receiving an update recently, the second-generation version of the Seltos is now preparing to launch in India.

The images have been doing the rounds on the internet. These capture a thickly wrapped SUV with a relatively familiar silhouette. The front section is partially visible. We see striking LED headlamps along with LED DRLs and a sporty bumper. Moving to the sides highlights an all-black theme for the alloy wheels. Also, the side section contains integrated roof rails, and the side body panels are somewhat similar to the existing model. Towards the rear, we are not able to deduce all that much due to the heavy covering. All in all, the silhouette is mostly identical to the current version.
When it comes to technology and comfort, Kia cars usually offer plenty of features. The same can be expected with the upcoming Seltos. Even the current model is among the most well-equipped SUVs in its class. Key features include dual 10.25-inch panoramic screens for infotainment and driver display, 19 ADAS Level 2 functions, a voice-controlled dual-pane sunroof, and ventilated front seats with 8-way power adjustment. It also has an 8-speaker Bose audio system, AI-based voice recognition, and an 8-inch head-up display. The next-generation version will aim to go a step further in this regard.
Expected Specs
The upcoming Kia Seltos is expected to bring some changes to its powertrain choices. It will continue with the known engines – a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol, a 1.5-litre turbo petrol, and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. In addition, a hybrid setup based on the 1.5-litre petrol unit could also be introduced. This option will target buyers looking for better fuel economy. Along with these, customers will still have the choice of both manual and automatic gearboxes. More information about the final engine lineup will be revealed in the coming days.
