The large SUV will be more attractive to entice new buyers, despite already enjoying a great time on the sales charts
Updated on 21.11.2025 – The latest virtual concept of the new 2026 Toyota Fortuner by malvinwsetiawan captures something quite interesting. The artist decided to create the GR version of the new SUV. As a consequence, we witness the GR badge on the front grille. In addition to that, the front section contains sleek LED DRLs placed on the edge of the bonnet and integrated inside LED headlamps. There is a black panel connecting the two headlamps with Toyota lettering on it. I particularly like the lower section of the front fascia.
This includes a colossal bumper with a massive grille, while the edges of the bumper contain vertically-positioned LED fog lamps. It also looks like cool aero vents, typically seen on EVs or sports cars. The splitter on the lower-most section of the bumper will protect the underbody. On the sides, I appreciate the black alloy wheels with red brake calipers. This enhances the sportiness of the vehicle. Apart from that, the side silhouette is almost similar to the existing model. The side steps aid the ingress and egress traits of the vehicle. All in all, this is quite an impressive illustration of the upcoming Toyota Fortuner.
New 2026 Toyota Fortuner Digitally Rendered, Looks Mean
Last updated on 19.11.2025 – This latest virtual illustration of the new 2026 Toyota Fortuner by kdesignag encapsulates rather impressive visuals. The artist mentions that he/she took inspiration from the latest Hilux and the 4Runner to devise this concept. At the front, we see sleek LED DRLs and LED headlamps on the edge of the bonnet. In the centre of the slim grille section, we witness the Toyota lettering, which looks neat. Down below, the bumper bears multiple layers with body-coloured elements on the upper end and a sturdy skid plate on the lower section.
Moving down the sides reveals muscular body panels with squared wheel arches and large and stylish alloy wheels. This rendering even lends a roof carrier to the SUV and the rear quarter glass is separated from the side windows. Finally, we move on to the rear profile, where we see prominent LED taillamps connected via a glass panel, a roof-mounted spoiler and an adventurous bumper. All in all, the SUV looks quite appealing and modern. Even the interior possesses modern amenities including a free-standing infotainment display, new steering wheel, tough buttons and switches and a digital instrument cluster. Let us keep an eye out for what the new model comes with.
New 2026 Toyota Fortuner to Get New Features and Styling
Last updated on 18.11.2025 – The new 2026 Toyota Fortuner is about to get a few upgrades in terms of exterior and interior. Fortuner is the biggest name in the Indian market in the 7-seat off-roading SUV space. Ever since the departure of the Ford Endeavour from the Indian market in 2021, there has been no worthy rival to put a dent in the Fortuner’s sales. There is also another side to the story. The Fortuner has not received any significant updates for a long time now. That is something that the Japanese carmaker must address.

These images stem from ar_cars_jp on Instagram. As per the information in this post, the 2026 Toyota Fortuner will bear new changes inspired by the new Hilux in the international markets. This includes things like a more aggressive front grille section with sleek new LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs and a rugged bumper with a solid skid plate. On the sides, we witness new and elegant alloy wheels, squared-off wheel arches, sturdy side body claddings and black side pillars. Finally, the tail section contains a shark fin antenna, a roof-mounted spoiler, sleek taillamps, an adventurous skid plate and a sporty bumper.
On the inside, the biggest change, according to these images, is the free-standing 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen. Other bits incorporate a new steering wheel with multimedia controls, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a fully digital instrument cluster, an electric parking brake and much more. It remains to be seen how many of these elements will make it to the production-spec model in India. Note that the debut might take place in early 2026.
Specs
The current Toyota Fortuner comes with two engine alternatives – a 2.7-litre petrol or a 2.8-litre turbo diesel. These result in 164 hp / 245 Nm and 201 hp / 420 Nm (500 Nm with automatic transmission) of peak power and torque, respectively. The petrol version is solely available with an automatic transmission, while the diesel can be had with either a 6-speed manual or an automatic gearbox. Also, the 4×4 configuration is strictly limited to the higher diesel trims. The only expected addition to the diesel engine of the 2026 Toyota Fortuner could be a 48-volt mild hybrid system. It will improve the fuel efficiency by around 10% and reduce emissions. More details will emerge in the coming days.

Having tracked the Fortuner’s dominance for years, it’s clear that Toyota can afford to take its time, yet the market has matured enough that buyers now expect more than just bulletproof reliability. With premium SUVs evolving rapidly, especially in terms of features and cabin tech, these 2026 updates are not just timely but necessary to justify the Fortuner’s increasingly steep pricing. If Toyota executes this well, it will only widen the gap in a segment where the Fortuner already enjoys an uncontested lead.
