New Kia Syros EV Launched

The mass market EV space is expanding rapidly in India, and the Syros EV is yet another product on that list

The new Kia Syros EV has been launched in India to rival the likes of the MG Windsor EV and Tata Punch EV. Note that in the last couple of years, we have seen the electric car industry growing substantially. The BaaS (Battery-as-a-Service) model has brought down the initial costs significantly for interested EV owners. In this, the cost of the battery is not added to the price of the vehicle, rather, the owners can pay a monthly rental for the battery based on their usage. That has truly boosted EV sales in India in the last couple of years. For now, let us take a look at the details of the Syros EV.

Kia Syros EV – Price

The prices of the new Kia Syros EV start at Rs 7.99 lakh, ex-showroom, with BaaS, with battery EMI of Rs 3.3 per km. Without BaaS, the prices with a 42 kWh battery start at Rs 13.49 lakh, while with the bigger 51.4 kWh battery, they commence at Rs 16.99 lakh, ex-showroom. Kia is also offering the industry-best Assured Buyback program to attract new buyers. With this, Kia promises a resale value of up to 80% after 3 years (T&C applied). The variant-wise price list is given below:

Editor’s Note

Yatharth Chauhan, Managing Editor

he electric car space in India is evolving at a rapid pace, and the arrival of the Kia Syros EV only makes the competition more exciting. While the MG Windsor EV has enjoyed a strong start thanks to its value proposition and BaaS model, Kia has now entered the segment with a feature-packed alternative that looks equally compelling on paper. With two battery options, an impressive equipment list and attractive pricing, the Syros EV certainly has the ingredients to shake things up. However, as always, the real test will be how it performs in the real world and whether it can match the Windsor EV’s overall ownership experience.
