Maserati India Launch by September 2015! Vehicles Start Arriving in India [Full Model Range & Prices]

Maserati India to begin operations by September. Will bring it’s full range of cars to India.

Italian luxury sports car manufacturer Maserati has announced its plans to enter, rather re-enter the Indian market in the third quarter of 2016. After a short stint in India which was terminated after just one year of operation, the Italian marquee will re-enter the Indian market with three new dealerships in New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore with AMP Supercars Pvt. Ltd., Bagga Luxury Motorcars LLP and Jubilant Autoworks Pvt. Ltd. respectively. Maserati will bring its full range to India which will include the Quattroporte and Ghibli sedans, GranTurismo and GranCabrio luxury sports cars and the Levante SUV once it is launched worldwide in 2016. The company will commence operation by the end of the third quarter of this year i.e. September 2016. Vehicles have already started arriving and we expect deliveries to commence soon. The newly appointed Head of Operations for India, Mr. Bojan Jankulovski, commented on the announcement, “Driving a Maserati is like wearing a tailor-made suit in a world of uniforms. Our re-entry into the Indian market is a commitment to our customers as there is a definitiveย demand for exclusive luxury products, including cars, in the Indian market.”

The Maserati India launch will include a total of four models:

Quattroporte

Maserati Quattroporte (25)

The Quattroporte sedan will come in two guises; diesel and GTS. The Maserati Quattroporte diesel is powered by aย 3.0 litre V6 which produces 271 bhp of power and 600 Nm torque. The petrol GTS is powered by a 3.8 litre V8 which puts out 530 bhp and 650-710 Nm of torque taking it from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.7 seconds! Expected prices:

  • Quattroporte Diesel- INR 1.5 Cr (ex-showroom)
  • Quattroporte GTS- INR 2.2 Cr (ex-showroom)

Ghibli

Maserati Ghibli (14)

The Ghibli sedan is smaller than the Quattroporte and will be the cheapest Maserati on sale. It will come only in the diesel guise initially followed by a V6 petrol some time in 2016. The diesel engine in the Ghibli is a 3.0 litre V6 which churns out 271 bhp of power and 400 Nm of torque mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Expected Prices:

GranTursimo & GranCabrio

Maserati GranTurismo & GranCabrio Centennial Edition (23)

The Maserati GranTurismo coupe is a luxury sports car which will be available in the GranTurismo, GranTurismo Sport, GranTurismo MC Stradale and GranTurismo MC Centennial Edition. The standard GranTurismo is powered by a 405 bhp 4.2 litre V8 while the MC Stradale is powered by a 4.7 litre V8 which puts out 460 bhp. The GranCabrio gets a retractable roof and will be available in the same versions as the GranTurismo. Expected Prices:

Levante SUV

The Levante SUV is still under development and has only been showcased in the concept form till now. Maserati has announced that the Levante will make it India in 2016 once it is launched internationally. The SUV is expected to drive sales for the brand worldwide.

Maserati will begin operations in India by the end of the third quarter of this 2016 and will start accepting bookings by the end of September. Deliveries will begin shortly afterwards and the company claims they will have sufficient stocks to avoid any delays. A maximum delivery period of three months is what they have promised. The company, part of the FCA or Fiat Chrysler Automobile group is targetting double-digit sales in India and although sales will be limited to a certain number to maintain exclusivity, they will considering increasing the number of units to be imported in case there is genuine demand.
